American Council On Science And Health is a food processing and chemical industries front organization

American Council On Science And Health repeatedly defends industry use of known carcinogens

A 1992 memo from [ACSH founder Elizabeth] Whelan, referenced in a Consumer Reports expose, bemoans the loss of funding from Shell in a particularly revealing way:

"When one of the largest international petrochemical companies will not support ACSH, the great defender of petrochemical companies, one wonders who will."

American Council On Science And Health denies Love Canal dangers

Dr. Elizabeth M. Whelan says, "Was there ever any real health problem at Love Canal? Yes, there was, in the sense that there was an enormous amount of media-induced stress placed on residents who were terrified that they and their children would become ill."

Ruth Kava is working to promote Soso Whaley

From a May 2, 2004 Interview

For her documentary, Whaley enlisted Dr. Ruth Kava, director of nutrition for the American Council on Science and Health, to analyze her diet. Kava will determine if Whaley ate the recommended daily allowances (RDA) of nutrients while dining under the golden arches.

"It wouldn't surprise me if Soso got a good amount of nutrients at McDonald's," said Kava, who has yet to do the analysis.
